Saturday and Sunday July 27th and 28th 9am-4pm
The Compound Gun Range
25414 South State Street Crete, IL
Our popular 2 Day Tactical Pistol Course is back bigger, better
and closer (in the Chicagoland south suburb of Crete Illinois)
This weekend course explores all aspects of the defensive use of handguns derived from evidence based techniques applied to real world situations. We’ll focus on the particulars of drawing from concealment, tactical anatomy and shot placement, movement, use of cover, reloading, malfunction drills and more.
John Pearson is a Master Firearms Instructor with several thousand hours of Instructor Development education that breaks down the minute details of successful techniques and handgun manipulation. Whatever your skill level or firearms experience is, you’ll leave this course with a enhanced understanding of the proper application of handgun fundamentals.
This course will leave you with a new level of performance based on efficiency and a focus on problem solving with a firearm. We’ll work with wide selection of targets including steel targets and a wide selection of distance from contact to 25 yards.
This is not a competition class…the only person you’ll compete against is yourself…the old you vs the new you with an open mind to accept new ideals and perhaps new approach to shooting faster and more accurate.
In this class you will need:
-a good reliable semi auto handgun(preferably the one that you actually carry). Bringing a backup gun in the same caliber isn’t a bad ideal if you have one.
-at least 3 magazines (5 if you have a pocket gun with a limited capacity of 8 or less)
-a magazine carrier(s) for your 2 spare magazines.
-a quality kydex or leather holster that realistically conceals your gun (most likely inside the waistband) absolutely no flimsy nylon holsters or cheap leather holster that doesn’t stay open after drawing the gun.
-500 rounds of quality factory ammunition.
-Lunch and plenty of water. This range is pretty much a closed campus so leaving for lunch isn’t really practical.
-If you have an optic on your gun PLEASE bring the adjustment tool for that particular optic in case you have to rezero it. Also bring spare batteries.
-A baseball type cap with a bill. Everyone will be shooting semi autos and brass will be flying. If hot brass gets between your glasses and your eyes that can present a serious hazard.
Eye and Ear protection. We HIGHLY recommend electronic hearing protection so you can hear the instructor without taking your ears off.
-The only restroom is a construction type porta potty…so any wipes or hand sanitizer you may need for your comfort.
– Bring a chair. We’ll have tents for the sun/rain and tables for your gear but you’ll need to bring your own folding/camp chair.
