John Pearson is a 31 year CFD Paramedic retired as the Executive Assistant EMS Headquarters (4-4-6)  His duties include writing and teach a federal grant course in Collaborative Response with Police and Fire. John has been active in the planning and execution of the major active shooter training at Chicago’s largest sports and entertainment venues.  He has contributed to Standard Operations Orders on Active Shooter as well and Law Enforcement Assist Operations. He has also assisted in teaching Chicago Police Dept’s Law Enforcement Medical and Rescue Training course.

  John is currently teaching Homeland Security courses to Chicago Police, Cook County Sheriff’s, Illinois State Police and Chicago Fire Departments.

John has trained with some of the top names in Law Enforcement Firearms training including Bank Miller (former Head Instructor for DEA, founder of Sig Sauer Academy), Pat MacNamara (formerly Lead Instructor for Delta Force) Massad Ayoob’s Lethal Force Institute, John Farnam’s Defense Tactics International, the late Master Police Firearms Instructor Jim Cirillo, Sig Sauer Academy, Blackwater Tactical, Glock Firearms, Tom Givens,  Travis Haley, Gabe Suarez of Suarez International, Dave Spaulding, Scott Jedlinski,  Aaron Cowan, Mike Pannone and many more.

John has been a shooter since the late ’70s and has carried concealed daily since 1987.  John is a Subject Matter Expert in Active Shooter Incidents and Tactical Medicine.  He’s been teaching civilians, private security and law enforcement since the early 90’s. He currently competes in International Defensive Pistol Association matches and in addition to teaching firearms classes he also teaches a Tactical Treatment of Gunshot Wounds course. John is a member of International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), The International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), The Illinois Tactical Officers Association (ITOA), The National Rifle Association, Illinois State Rifle Association, Chicago Firearms Safety Association and Glock Shooting Sports Foundation, Association of Defensive Shooting Instructors, National Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association, Special Operations Medical Association, Ohio Tactical Officers Association.
